Man Utd legend Sir Alex Ferguson is harassed while leaving Etihad as Man City fan uses his own taunt against him
SIR ALEX FERGUSON was noisily harassed by a Manchester City fan as he left the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.
The Manchester United icon was in the stands to watch his former side take a 4-1 hiding from the team he once called ‘noisy neighbours’.
One City fan took things too far as he repeatedly shouted in the legend’s face while he tried make his way out of the stadium.
They berated Fergie, 80, with cries of: “Never in my lifetime! City, City, City,” right in his face.
The fan was referencing Ferguson’s words about the blue side of Manchester from back in 2009.
When Ferguson was asked in a press conference if United would ever go into the Manchester derby as underdogs, he cheekily replied: “What time is it?
“I think it’s time for me to leave… not in my lifetime.”
The harrying of Ferguson at full time came after City fans had already trolled Ferguson inside the Etihad for his infamous remark.

A huge banner was unfurled by the home fans before the game that read: “Not in my lifetime,” in a brutal response to Fergie’s dig.
His words have backfired in a big way in the last decade – since his retirement in 2013 United have failed to win the Premier League, whereas City have FIVE titles in that time.
And City fans were understandably loving it on Sunday as Pep Guardiola’s men ran riot against their arch-rivals.
Kevin De Bruyne and Riyad Mahrez scored two each as United crumbled to a 4-1 defeat.
In a toothless display against, United failed to even register a shot on the second half.
It was a performance that left club legend Roy Keane seething as he claimed at full time that five or six United players should never play for the club again.
He raged on Sky Sports: “There was players there and we’re watching it live, and I’m looking at them getting really frustrated watching it.
“I forgive mistakes, but you’ve got to run back. There’s players, five or six players should never play for United again. Just shameful.
“Shameful that you can’t run back and you can’t put your body on the line.”
