HBO's latest original series, "Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty," premieres on March 6 at 9 p.m. ET. You can also stream the show on HBO Max. 

The sports drama is based on the real-life story of the LA Lakers and their rise to success in the NBA between 1979 and 1991. During this period, Jerry Buss bought the Lakers and managed to draft Magic Johnson. Together, they helped lead the team to five championship wins. John C. Reilly plays Buss, while Quincy Isaiah stars as Earvin "Magic" Johnson.

The 10-episode series is created by Max Borenstein and Jim Hecht. Adam McKay directed the series premiere. McKay is best known for directing movies like "Don't Look Up," "The Big Short," and "Vice." Early reviews for the show have been positive, and the series currently holds a "91% Fresh" rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

You can watch 'Winning Time' exclusively on the HBO cable channel and HBO Max streaming service. The first episode premieres March 6 at 9 p.m. ET.
