Well, that message is going to be heard loud and clear in her upcoming Amazon Prime Video reality show, Lizzo’s Watch Out for the Big Grrrls, where 10 contestants battle it out for a spot to perform alongside her at the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival.

To promote her new show, Lizzo did a stunning cover for Variety that has us even more excited for what she has in store for her fans. The “Truth Hurts” singer is ready to push the needle on beauty in all shapes and sizes after realizing that plus-size dancers weren’t getting representation in the entertainment industry.

“If I have to start a f**king television show to get enough attention to find these girls and get them prepared to join me onstage, then so be it,” she told Ramin Setoodeh. “This has been a passion of mine for a long time: discovering and mentoring big-girl dancers, especially Black girls.” The images for the cover story prove that Lizzo is not just a star, she’s one with a mission to take every stereotype out of the equation. “For decades, we have been depicted on television and in movies as “lazy,” and huffing and puffing while the other thinner characters are jogging. It’s fine. It’s a stereotype,” she said. “I ain’t new to stereotypes. But what I’m trying to do is dismantle every stereotype that I have the power to do. I’m destroying them by just living and being incredible all the time.”
