Journalist reveals when Oliver Skipp could return from injury for Tottenham
Journalist Paul Brown has claimed Tottenham midfielder Oliver Skipp could return from injury to face Leeds United this weekend.
Skipp has been sidelined for Tottenham’s last four games due to a groin problem, which has seen the club claim just one win in that time.
The Evening Standard reported the 21-year-old’s return has been delayed due to an infection developed during his recovery, which left Spurs concerned about rushing him back too soon.
But Brown now believes there is a growing chance that Skipp could recover in time for Spurs’ next fixture on Saturday lunchtime when they travel to a struggling Leeds side.
He told GiveMeSport: “I think his injury is taking longer than people thought, definitely. But we’re told there’s a chance he could be back this weekend.”
Following his return from a successful loan spell at Norwich last season, Skipp has been a regular fixture in the Spurs line-up. The England youth international has made 28 appearances in all competitions so far this term (Transfermarkt).

Tottenham have missed Skipp dearly and his absence has contributed to the side’s recent struggles. While it would be so good to have him back, Spurs need to make sure they don’t rush him back and check he’s fit enough to at least feature. But the good thing about younger players is that they can usually recover well and at a good rate.
