Julian Hilliard, the child actor who played Wanda Maximoff’s magically generated son Billy in WandaVision, has responded to rumors that he will appear in Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness. The hugely anticipated continuation of the MCU’s multiverse storyline stars Benedict Cumberbatch as the titular surgeon-turned-sorcerer-supreme and features the first appearance of Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff since she put an end to her reality-altering antics in WandaVision. It is directed by Sam Raimi, who previously directed the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man trilogy.
The film is rumored to feature a number of exciting cameos, including speculation regarding Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man, Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, and Tom Cruise playing an alternate universe version of Iron Man. A recent Super Bowl trailer seemed to confirm that Patrick Stewart would be making an appearance in the film, presumably as Professor Charles Xavier from Fox’s X-Men films. The film will also feature the MCU debut of superpowered transuniversal adventurer America Chavez, played by Xochitl Gomez.
Now, Hilliard has responded to rumors that he will also be appearing in the film by tweeting an edited image from a well-known Marvel comic. The image is from Brian Michael Bendis’ House of M, in which Wanda Maximoff uses her hex powers to rid most of the Marvel universe’s mutant population of their powers by uttering the phrase “no more mutants.” The image in Hilliard’s tweet has been altered to say “no more rumors.” Hilliard has accompanied the tweet with text that reads “some of y’all” next to a smirking emoji. The tweet is viewable below.

The tweet appears on the surface to be nothing more than a light-hearted jab at fans who are tired of Dr Strange rumors and want more concrete information about the film's content, but some Twitter users have taken it to be a coded admission that Hilliard knows something about the film's plot that hasn't yet been revealed. While the post itself neither confirms nor denies Hilliard’s involvement, one scene in a recent trailer shows two variants of Wanda meeting each other in what appears to be Wanda and Vision’s Westview home from WandaVision, with children’s scooters clearly visible in the background. It isn’t hard to see how some fans might interpret this as a sign that Wanda’s children will be part of the new film. It's also worth noting that the post-credit scene for WandaVision’s final episode ended with the disembodied voices of Wanda’s children crying out for help while she consulted The Darkhold in a remote cabin. This would also seem to suggest that Wanda’s children might be involved in the events of Multiverse of Madness.
Hilliard has responded to his own tweet with a GIF of Danny DeVito as Frank Reynolds from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia dressed as a troll and singing the “Troll Toll” song from “The Nightman Cometh.” This would suggest that Hilliard is merely trolling his Twitter followers and that the tweet contains no hidden significance. Whatever the case may be, Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness certainly looks like it's going to be a treat for hardcore MCU enthusiasts and casual fans alike, one that's still hiding plenty of secrets.
