An Animal Crossing: New Horizons player has recreated the iconic pub from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, complete with its own Charlie Kelly. Since its release in 2020, Animal Crossing has inspired many recreations of pop-culture locales, giving players a huge amount of options when it comes to building and decoration. The game has sold over 32 million copies, and has one of the most active creative communities in gaming.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons largely centers around player creativity, letting fans design an entire island as well as their in-game homes any way they'd like. Players can acquire furniture to decorate with, and can utilize custom patterns created by users to further their creative visions. In November of 2021, a new paid DLC entitled Happy Home Paradise was released alongside a very large 2.0 update for the game. The DLC is incredibly design-centric, giving players the job of an interior designer and adding several new elements like counters and pillars that players can use for their builds. The Animal Crossing 2.0 update added a slew of new furniture for players to decorate with as well, with over 9,000 items also included.
Reddit user bluebellfob shared their incredible It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia Paddy's Pub recreation this week, even designing their character to look like fan-favorite janitor Charlie Kelly. Clearly a big fan of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, their detailed build features everything from bottle-filled shelves to the pub's classic logo and shamrocks. They've even included a custom pattern that recreates the neon guitar sign that's displayed on the pub's wall. Their version of Charlie Kelly looks uncannily similar to the character, dressed in what resembles his frequently-worn jacket and appearing to be worn out from doing "Charlie work" around the bar.

This delightful build excellently showcases the utilization of custom designs within Animal Crossing. When it comes to the recreation of pop-culture locales, custom patterns are almost always needed to make the areas more accurate to their source material. Without the use of customization, the user wouldn't have been able to feature anything that adorns the walls in this build, nor the bottle-filled panels behind the bar. The addition of counters to the game with Happy Home Paradise was also a key piece of this design - previously, this bar would have had to be built utilizing in-game items that could only approximate the look of a long counter, and clear gaps would be seen in-between each one.
This It's Always Sunny pub recreation is a perfect example of the creativity within the Animal Crossing community. Even almost two years after release, Animal Crossing players continue to build stunning creations, whether they are recreations or original designs. The game has received its last major update, but players continue to find new ways to unleash their creativity within the hit Nintendo title. It's easy for players to experience burnout after a game has been out for a long time, but the active creators in the Animal Crossing: New Horizons community help inspire others and keep the game feeling fresh.
