To complete the Dry Yearn Relic Ruins in Horizon Forbidden West, players will need Special Gear, including the Igniter, Pullcaster, and Vine Cutter.
One of the Relic Ruins that players can explore in Horizon Forbidden West is Dry Yearn, a location east of the Scalding Spear Melee Pit challenge. Upon entering, Aloy will encounter a Metal Flower that blocks the entryway to a crate. To remove the barrier, players must use their Vine Cutter, striking the plant three times and then stabbing the flower to dissolve its vines. This Special Gear in Horizon Forbidden West is unlocked once players have completed the main story mission, "Seeds of the Past."
After using the Vine Cutter, grab the crate inside and pull it out and move it over to the end of the scaffolding. Use the box to climb up and interact with the device to open the Blast Door. Quickly run through the entryway, as the door will gradually close if players aren't fast enough. Further within the tunnel, Aloy will encounter some rumble that can be removed using her Pullcaster. Inside is a buried Railcar that players can pull out to use later. Next, players must utilize their Pullcaster tool in Horizon Forbidden West again to yank down the three metal beams on the wall to the left.
Climb up the closed Blast Door and parkour across the beams to acquire a Repository Maintenance Key. Next, pull out a crate within the small room under the metal scaffolding on the right and use it to reach the locked door above. Open the door with the key module and enter the vent using Aloy's Pullcaster.
After crawling through the vent, players will reach another room with a pathway blocked by Firegleam. Using the Igniter, blast away the crystals to clear away the rubble. Players should keep their distance after igniting the Firegleam, as staying too close to the detonation can hurt Aloy in Horizon Forbidden West.
After clearing the red crystals, players will realize they've returned to the entrance of the Dry Yearn Relic Ruins. Use the device to open the Blast Door again to slip through and pull out the Railcar from earlier. Use the trolley to keep the door from touching the ground, keeping it at a higher position for Aloy to reach the area on the upper-left of the inner tunnel. Here, players can use their Pullcaster to remove the rubble blocking the pathway for a final time. Go across the sandy floor and drop down to retrieve the Dry Yearn's Ornament.
Horizon Forbidden West is available on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
