Manchester United beat Leeds United 4-2 at Elland Road at the weekend, although the game wasn’t as easy as recent fixtures against our hated rivals, where we beat them 6-2 and 5-1. After going in 2-0 up at half-time, we were pegged back to 2-2. Then Fred and Anthony Elanga were substituted on.
Fred made in 3-2 just three minutes after coming on to the field, while Elanga made it four with two minutes of normal time remaining. The travelling away end sang Elanga’s chant on repeat in response.
Speaking to the club’s official site, Elanga has spoken about what it means to him to have scored against one of our rivals and to hear the fans chanting his name.
It was an amazing experience playing against Leeds. We all know what they’re about and what it means to the club. To score and to celebrate with the whole team showed that togetherness and spirit.
It felt good Before me and Fred came on, it was two-all, so to come on and impact the game the way we did was special. And to get the goal to make it 4-2 felt so good and celebrating with the fans was amazing.
I felt amazing when I scored and hearing them chanting my song. That made it very special. I live for moments like this, I want to experience more, score more goals and just keep going.
