Horizon Forbidden West: How To Beat Regalla (Boss Guide)
While Aloy has her fair share of fierce mechanical beasts she must fight in Horizon Forbidden West, brutish humans, such as Regalla, can also prove to be a challenge in combat. Players will face Regalla during the Main Quest, "The Wings of Ten," which occurs after Aloy is able to mount and fly on Sunwings. Before Regalla can slay the Herkarro and other Tenakth leaders, Aloy confronts the traitor, challenging her to a duel in Horizon Forbidden West. While taking on a human may seem trivial after all the metallic monstrosities Aloy has faced, Regalla is undoubtedly a formidable opponent.
The boss fight begins within a small arena. Regalla has several swinging and leaping attacks that can quickly close the distance between her and Aloy. Players need to watch her moves carefully to know when to dodge. Once players have whittled away a fraction of Regalla's HP, the second phase of the battle will begin.
The second part of the boss fight has Aloy and Regalla fighting from a distance with ranged attacks. Regalla will have the higher ground with two barriers for cover, while the player has a broader area with many more spots for hiding. However, some walls have explosive barrels beside them, so players should always be ready to move in this Horizon Forbidden West boss fight. Regalla will shoot various projectiles at Aloy, and players must avoid taking damage while firing back. The Concentration skill will become extremely useful, as slowing down time will give players a chance to strike Regalla while she is in the open.
The third and final phase of the battle begins after Aloy drops down to the central colosseum below. This part blends both the first and second part of the fight with Regalla using melee and ranged attacks on Aloy. One tactic that players can use within this arena is luring Regalla towards one of the explosive barrels about the area and detonating one with a Fire Arrow whenever Regalla gets close.
While choosing between primarily attacking Regalla with Aloy's Spear or her bow and arrow in Horizon Forbidden West is up to the player's preference, one of the fastest ways to take down Regalla is by firing at her head. Using Concentration-aimed shots, remove the helmet from Regalla to deal critical damage with any arrow shot. The few several projectiles will not do much damage, yet once players expose Regalla's head, the damage they deal will increase by a large margin.
