Uncharted's Man on Beach Cameo Will Make Sense to Video Game Fans (Spoilers)

Fans of the video game series Uncharted were probably delighted by that amazing cameo in the new movie based on the games, but plenty of viewers were probably confused by the moment.

After Tom Holland‘s character Nathan Drake survives falling out of a plane, he drifts to shore with Sophia Ali‘s Chloe Frazer. They arrive on a beach town and a familiar voice greets them on land.
“Whoa, what the hell happened to you two?” a man in a beach chair asks them.
The man is Nolan North, who voiced the role of Nathan Drake in the video game series and also performed motion capture for the games.
Tom‘s Nathan answers, “Fell out of a car then fell out of a plane.” Nolan then responds, “Huh. You know, something like that happened to me once.”
Nolan opened up to Variety about being part of the movie.
“I think cameos can be touchy. I told them, ‘I don’t need to be in the movie just to be in the movie,’” he said. “I don’t like to be taken out of a movie. When I’m watching one, I’m focused in. From what we did, it’s just enough of a nod that everyone goes, ‘Ah, that’s the guy!’ And then we’re right back into the film. I was adamant with them, I didn’t want it to be self-indulgent. It’s a quick little thing, and it works for the scheme of the film and it’s fun. Like Stan Lee’s stuff in Marvel movies. They always were perfect.”
