Prince Andrew Settles with Accuser in Sexual Abuse Lawsuit

Prince Andrew reached a settlement agreement with a woman who accused him of sexually abusing her as a teen. 

As previously reported by Human Events News, Virginia Giuffre – who also accused Jeffrey Epstein of sexual exploitation – sued Prince Andrew for allegedly sexually assaulting her when she was only 17. 

“I am holding Prince Andrew accountable for what he did to me,” Virginia Giuffre said in a statement. “The powerful and rich are not exempt from being held responsible for their actions. I hope that other victims will see that it is possible not to live in silence and fear, but to reclaim one’s life by speaking out and demanding justice.” 

For years, Prince Andrew denied allegations. Indeed, in 2019, he told BBC News: “It didn’t happen.” 

Andrew argued that the case should be dismissed over a 2009 civil settlement that Giuffre signed with Epstein for $500,000. He claimed that the settlement should bar him for being sued for sexual abuse. 

The settlement with Giuffre will reportedly lead to a dismissal in the case, Just the News reports.

Giuffre and Prince Andrew will file a stipulation to dismiss the case in the next month, according to court papers filed on Tuesday. 

An unsigned letter included in the settlement filing acknowledged Giuffre has suffered for years as a result of being trafficked by Epstein. 

“It is known that Jeffrey Epstein trafficked countless young girls over many years,” the letter reads. “Prince Andrew regrets his association with Epstein, and commends the bravery of Ms. Giuffre and other survivors in standing up for themselves and others.” 

“Prince Andrew has never intended to malign Ms. Giuffre’s character, and he accepts that she has suffered both as an established victim of abuse and as a result of unfair public attacks,” it continues.
