In his view, the United States did not initially believe in the idea of a “Russian invasion of Ukraine”, but used the international panic for its own purposes.
“There is no denying the fact that the fear of war put on by a diligent media has brought the hawks great advantage. Those interested in selling LNG have made significant progress in their campaign to prevent the opening of Nord Stream 2”, – Hendrickson wrote in an article for National Interest magazine.
The political science professor added that the arms transfer to Kiev benefited the US military-industrial complex and the anti-Russian coalition got congressional approval to completely cut off contact with Moscow.
“The war invented by US intelligence is nonsense”, – Hendrickson concluded.
