Report provides update on Man United pursuit of Mauricio Pochettino
ESPN have claimed that Manchester United’s players are keen on former Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino being appointed as Ralf Rangnick’s successor at Old Trafford.
Pochettino spent five and a half years at Tottenham before parting ways with the club in 2019. The Argentine helped establish Spurs as Champions League regulars and led the club to two title challenges as well as a European final.
Tottenham reportedly wanted to bring Pochettino back to North London last summer (Evening Standard) but they were unable to do so and eventually ended up appointing Nuno Espirito Santo, who was replaced by Antonio Conte after just a few months in charge.
ESPN have now revealed that Pochettino is one of the names on United’s five-man shortlist to become the club’s next manager in the summer.
It is claimed that there is a ‘growing clamour’ in the United dressing room for the former Spurs boss to get the nod, with several seniors believing that the 49-year-old is the right man for the job.
It is also asserted that the Red Devils believe Pochettino would be attainable as he could part ways with Paris Saint-Germain as early as next month if the Ligue 1 giants get knocked out of the Champions League.

As painful as it would be to see Pochettino at another Premier League club, I have now accepted the fact that he will be the next United boss. Unfortunately for us, as well as the other top sides in the country, I believe the Argentine will make the Red Devils a major force again within a year or two of his arrival.
