The events leading to the game's Beneviento boss battle have been widely praised as some of Resident Evil's scariest sequences, cementing Donna and her doll Angie as some of the most unforgettable characters of the latest Capcom horror.
Resident Evil Village became an instant success when it launched in early 2021, praised for its gameplay, horror, and story. The game is the latest installment in the longstanding survival horror franchise, and continues the story of Ethan and Mia Winters, this time with the addition of their daughter Rose. Even before its release, Resident Evil Village was primed for success, with the character Lady Dimitrescu making waves in viral memes online due to her imposing height. Lady Dimitrescu is far from the game's scariest enemy though, with Village's Donna Beneviento's lore and story making her one of the most interesting characters in the title.
The love for Donna Beneviento continues into 2022, as demonstrated by Redditor and cosplayer Manulysart, who has perfectly captured the character's essence in a terrifying Resident Evil Village cosplay. The cosplay is so realistic, some commenters even mistook their work as screenshots from the game. The spooky recreation shows Manulusart in the role of Beneviento, supported by a hyper-realistic version of Angie the doll, created by the cosplayer themselves. The series of images shows the duo not only living and dead, but also offers a look at their intimate relationship, with Angie watching over Donna in bed. This isn't the first time a fan has been inspired to become Resident Evil's Donna Beneviento through cosplay, and it likely won't be the last. Donna and Angie are particularly terrifying for those with a fear of dolls, and the hide-and-seek trials Ethan undertakes are a chilling conclusion to the events that come before as he explores the horrors within the Beneviento house. The Beneviento sections of Resident Evil Village have been known to scare even the most seasoned of horror players, with the characters unforgettable as a result.
While Resident Evil Village has now been on the market for some time, Capcom isn't yet done with the game, which means more from Donna and Angie could be on the way. Last year it was confirmed that DLC for Village is in development, though no specific details are yet known. While many are hoping for more time with Lady Dimitrescu, there are plenty of other fans hoping for another turn in the haunted house of Donna and Angie Beneviento. Judging from Manulysart's impressive cosplay, they're likely also wishing for Donna Beneviento DLC, with news on its development hopefully coming soon.
