90 Day Fiancé star Memphis Sandoval’s breakfast demands went a bit out of hand when she asked her partner, Hamza Moknii, for bacon as breakfast during her stay in Tunisia. Memphis is getting married to Hamza after getting to know him for eight months. While Hamza inspired Memphis to leave her wild years of being single behind, he also lied to her about his age and conservative household. When Memphis insisted on having some “sexy time” with Hamza, it was not just “fast and furious.” The Michigan mom also got trashed by 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days viewers for disrespecting Hamza’s mom Hayet’s religious values. And now Memphis asking for bacon to nurse her hangover in a Muslim country is being slammed by fans.
Kairouan man Hamza is really 26 but lied about being 28 to please 34-year-old Memphis. Because her trust was broken, Memphis demanded that Hamza sign a pre-up and if not, she’d leave him. Memphis asking him about the savings that unemployed Hamza didn’t have made him feel insulted. He started wondering if he could spend the rest of his life with Memphis in America when she hurts him and treats him badly. But the couple seems to have resolved their differences from 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days episode 10 according to a preview.
The clip posted on the 90 Day Fiancé YouTube channel shows a hungover and hangry Memphis complaining about her pulpy juice and asking Hamza for food because she’s “small but loves to eat.” Faithful husband-to-be Hamza leaves their hotel room to fetch Memphis a breakfast platter that doesn’t meet her demands. “Is there bacon on there?” Memphis asks Hamza while telling him that she doesn’t like “sweet stuff.” Hamza tells Memphis he has croissants, yogurt, etc. for her, but Memphis is distraught and tells the cameras, “After a long night of having some fun and doing cardio, I would love to have a whole bunch of bacon, some sausage, some hashbrowns and probably some French toast.” Fans were appalled by Memphis’ ignorance and criticized her by posting comments like, “In the country Hamza lives bacon or any kind of pork meat it’s forbidden that’s why in the table [there] wasn’t any. She really needs to learn and respect his culture!”
Another 90 Day Fiancé watcher asked, “Going to a Muslim country and expecting bacon. What is wrong with these people?” Someone else commented, “But if I was dating a Muslim person, I would not expect them to handle anything pork…it’s really a respect thing.” Other fans expected Memphis to at least be grateful as Hamza got her a whole tray full of options and that Memphis shouldn’t have demanded American food in a foreign nation. According to Tunisian Experience, “It is not against the law to eat pork in Tunisia, but it is culturally inappropriate because it goes against the rules of Islam. Ninety-eight percent of Tunisians are Muslim, and it is forbidden in Islam to eat pork.” The website does note, though, that pork is served at hotels and can be bought at stores in larger cities.
Still, in 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days episode 2, Memphis visited her foster sister, Ingrid, before going to the airport and told her, “If you have some bacon, I would love some bacon because I can have no bacon when I go down there.” Memphis asked for six, seven, eight pieces from Ingrid. It's because she wanted to respect and follow Hamza’s religion when she went to Tunisia. This is why 90 Day Fiancé fans are finding this scene of Memphis specifically asking Hamza for pork a bit hard to digest.
