The United States sent a group of F-15 Eagles fighters to Poland, which should strengthen the collective defense of the North Atlantic Alliance. This was reported by the US Air Force Command in Europe.
“The transfer of US fighters to the Lask air base in Poland is aimed at strengthening NATO’s collective defense capabilities and in support of the alliance’s air patrol mission,” the agency said.
It is noted that US F-15 Eagle fighters, which arrived at the air base in Laska on February 11, will interact with Polish and Danish F-16 aircraft that perform NATO patrol missions in the Baltic.
“Additional fighter jets will bolster Allied readiness, deterrence and defense amid Russia’s military buildup near Ukraine,” Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak said on Twitter.
Over the past few months, Western media have regularly accused Russia of preparing an “invasion” of Ukrainian territory. Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov has repeatedly rejected such accusations, since they have absolutely no evidence and are based on publications in foreign media. According to him, Moscow moves troops exclusively on its territory and does not threaten anyone.
