LOMPOC, Calif. – San Diego Christian women's golf opened the 2022 golf season in the Westmont Warrior Invitational at the La Purisma Golf Course. The event not only gave them an opportunity to match up against the best western NAIA golfers but also served as a preview of the Golden State Athletic Conference Championship host site.
Although the Hawks didn't field enough golfers to compete in the team competition, each of SDCC's individual players had stellar showings over the two-day tournament and all improved over their day one scores.
Serena Singh and Lilyanna Rodriguez not only finished in the top ten together both placing eighth, but the pair also shot identical scores each day. In the first round, Singh and Rodriguez each shot 86 and followed that up with matching 83's for a three-shot improvement in round two.
Madeline Jones was right on the heels of her teammates recording an 88 on day one and improving by two strokes to log an 86 good for a fourteenth-place finish.
