Emmerdale fans sickened as Jai Sharma stoops to new low to hide debts which leaves Rishi fighting for his life

EMMERDALE’S fans were disgusted by Jai Sharma after he tried to force his family out of their home on Monday’s episode.

The businessman – played by Chris Bisson in the ITV soap – has been on a financial downward spiral since the fallout from the events of Survival Week.

Last week, Jai took out a loan in his girlfriend Laurel Thomas’ name to cover up his growing debts.

In tonight’s instalment, Kim Tate (Claire King) plans to evict Jai and Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) from their home in order to raise funds to deal with her money woes.

Laurel’s stepdaughter Gaby then suggested that Jai and Laurel buy Mulberry cottage to avoid them being turfed out of their family home.

Seeing his partner distraught, Jai concocts a way out and promises Laurel that he will find a way to buy the house.

The ruthless business owner then dropped a bombshell on his sister Priya and dad Rishi, by telling the pair that he plans of selling his shares in their family home, Holdgate Farm, so he can buy Mulberry cottage with Laurel.

This would mean that Priya and Rishi would be forced to sell the family home in order for Jai to get his money.

A visibly shocked Priya refused to go along with Jai’s proposal and hit back at her brother for being selfish.

The argument spilled over into the street as Gaby slammed Jai for telling Kim to evict her mum Bernice so Priya could buy her cottage.

The commotion resulted in Rishi suddenly collapsing amid the chaos, as a panicked Priya screamed at Jai to call an ambulance.

ITV viewers were shocked that Jai was willing to push his sister and dad out of their home.

One wrote: “Well done Jai, you may of just killed your dad!”

Another posted: “Nice one Jai making Rishi collapse due to stress.”

A third added: “Jai’s his own worst enemy.”

Viewers have watched as Jai took drastic actions to find a way out of his financial mess.

His business ventures turned sour after Survival Week at The Hop led to the murder of Andrea Tate, among other casualties.

Heavily fined, as Andrea’s family blamed the management of The Hop for her death, Jai faced ruin.

At the risk of losing everything, he had first tried to file for a loan in his name but this attempt was unsuccessful.

It was only then he decided to sign a new loan application in Laurel’s name behind her back.
