Boba Fett Emerges From the Sands of Tatooine in Impressive Fan Art

Warning: This article includes spoilers for The Book of Boba Fett episode 6

A new piece of The Book of Boba Fett fan art sees the iconic Star Wars bounty hunter emerge from the sands of Tatooine. Boba Fett first appeared in 1980’s Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, in which he was played by Jeremy Bulloch. The character returned in 1983's Star Wars: Return of the Jedi where he seemingly met an anti-climactic end thanks to that Sarlacc Pit. A younger version of Boba (Daniel Logan) appeared in the prequel 2002’s Star Wars: Attack of the Clones, revealing him to be a genetic clone and adoptive son of Jango Fett (Temuera Morrison).

Disney+’s The Mandalorian revealed Boba survived the events of Return of the Jedi. Late last year, its spin-off series, The Book of Boba Fett, premiered on the streamer with Morrison playing the title character. The series’ first four episodes, which contained length flashbacks, showed Boba escape the Sarlacc Pit, befriend Tuskan Raiders, and meet Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen). In the present, Boba attempts to seize control of Jabba the Hutt’s old territories and become the new crime lord of Tatooine.

Artist Samuel Chevé recently posted some The Book of Boba Fett art on Instagram. The piece sees the bounty hunter’s weather helmet emerge, or rather, rise from the sands of Tatooine. Check it out below:

The Book of Boba Fett essentially hit the pause button on the story of its main character in episode 5, “Return of the Mandalorian,” picking up with Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) following the events of The Mandalorian season 2. While many assumed episode 6 would return its attention to Boba, fans were reunited with Freetown Mashal, Cobb Vanth (Timothy Olyphant), Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson), and, of course, Grogu and Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill). The episode, which was directed by Dave Filoni himself, also featured the live-act debut of Star Wars: The Clone Wars and The Bad Batch’s Cad Bane (Corey Burton and Dorian Kingi). Even though Boba only appeared onscreen for a matter of minutes, episode 6, “From the Desert Comes a Stranger,” was quality Star Wars.

The Book of Boba Fett’s finale should do right by its eponymous anti-hero. Now, the stage is set for the war between Boba and the Pyke Syndicate. Hopefully, this means a showdown between Bane and Boba—two of the most fearsome bounty hunters in all of Star Wars. The result of that duel may see one of them never emerge from the sands of Tatooine again.
