The Challenge: Leroy & Kam Announce Sex Of First Baby
The Challenge veterans Leroy Garrett and Kam Williams shared the news that they were expecting their first child together in December 2021, and the happy couple just announced the sex of their baby. Leroy and Kam met on The Challenge and despite facing some relationship hurdles, the two became exclusive. The power couple went on to run the final together in The Challenge: Double Agents, where Kam came in second place with her teammate Cory Wharton, splitting $100K between them. Leroy and his partner Nany Gonzalez finished third, both going home empty-handed.
Originally on The Real World: Las Vegas, Leroy went on to star in The Challenge: Rivals in 2011. He went on to compete in eleven more seasons of The Challenge. He made it to five finals but unfortunately never took home the big win. During Double Agents, Leroy shared to Kam that this was his final run on the show. In November 2021, he shared with fans why he chose to quit, stating that his altercation with The Challenge star Camila Nakagawa during Dirty 30 back in 2017 left him feeling betrayed by MTV. After years of the incident weighing on him, Leroy made the decision to leave The Challenge in order to heal and move forward.
In identical Instagram posts, Leroy and Kam posted a photo of Kam holding a bunch of blue balloons and Leroy holding pink balloons, with the caption, “Are you Team Girl or Team Boy?” A few days later, Kam and Leroy posted a video with the gender reveal of their baby. Leroy is holding the blue balloons this time and Kam is holding the pink balloons. Kam is shown releasing hers into the sky while Leroy holds tight on the blue balloons, revealing to fans that they’re having a boy. They captioned the video with, “Our greatest gift to each other!” The Challenge stars received tons of congratulations from fellow cast members, such as Cara Maria Sorbello who wrote, “Oh boy! Happy for you guys. We all wanna watch this family show!!!”
In a loving tribute, Kam wrote, “I always think back to the moment we first met to where we are now. Right before I met you I was looking for love, when I actually met you I wasn’t." When Kam and Leroy first met, there was an instant attraction between them but they kept it casual. Kam went on to say, "I guess things really do come to you when you’re not looking at all. We’ve always trusted the process & let things happen on Gods timing which is never wrong! I look forward to bringing our first child into the world and raising a little version of you and witnessing you becoming a dad. Thank you for loving me the way you do. Love you both so much.”
Leroy and Kam will join other Challenge vets who have entered parenthood. Kyle Christie welcomed his baby boy Crew Jax Christie in September 2021. Jenna Compono and Zach Nichols welcomed their first son in September as well. CT Tamburello has a six-year-old son with his wife Lilianet Solares and Amanda Garcia has a two-year-old son named Avonni Reinhardt. Cory shares a daughter, Ryder, with Challenge alum Cheyenne Floyd. He also has a daughter, Mila, with Taylor Selfridge whom he met while they were on MTV’s Ex On The Beach. Kam is four months pregnant, which means she and Leroy are expecting Baby Garrett in June 2022.
