Spurs half time player ratings vs Brighton – Kane and Son impress

Here’s how we rated the Tottenham Hotspur players following the opening forty five minutes of action against Brighton in the FA Cup fourth round tie under the lights in north London.

Hugo Lloris: Has had little to do. 6.

Emerson Royal: Looked to have scored Tottenham’s second in bizarre circumstances when his cross took a deflection off March and into the net after a brilliant run down the right, only to be given as an own goal. 7.

Cristian Romero: Has looked assured upon his return to the side, made a solid tackle on Lampety inside the penalty area which brought cheers from the crowd. 7.

Davinson Sanchez: Has looked to get forward and join in the attack where possible.  Made a good interception to deny Lallana a shot on goal. 6.

Ben Davies: A relatively comfortable half aside from Gross’ pass which beat him to find its way into the penalty area which Maupay should have done better with. 6.

Sergio Reguilon: Tottenham’s attacking impetus has allowed the Spaniard to keep Lamptey on the back foot. 6.

Harry Winks: Made a run forward and had an opportunity on goal which failed to test Sanchez 6.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg: Sat in front of the defence and has helped to break up opportunities in the middle of the park. 6.

Lucas Moura: Has looked his industrious self and has interlinked the midfield with the attack. 6.

Heung-min Son: Did well to win the ball of Webster in the build-up to Kane’s opener.  Has grown into the game and linked well with Kane. 7.

Harry Kane: Scored a stunning opening goal in the twelfth minute with a curling effort.  Has been at the heart of everything good which Spurs have done. 8.
