THE TV series Euphoria has taken off as an HBO Max hit with fans clamoring to know what happens from one drama-filled episode to another.

Euphoria focuses on difficult topics including sex, drug abuse, and addiction.

Will Euphoria have a season three?

HBO Max has officially announced season three of Euphoria will be coming to its streaming platform.

The announcement comes as the show has hit 14 million total viewers. The executive vice president for HBO Programming, Francesca Orsi, said the storyline has been exemplified by its outstanding cast.

“Sam, Zendaya, and the entire cast and crew of Euphoria have taken season two to extraordinary heights, challenging narrative convention and form, while maintaining its heart.”

Orsi added, “We couldn’t be more honored to work with this gifted, wildly talented team or more excited to continue our journey with them into season three.”

How popular is Euphoria?

Euphoria first aired in June 2019 and quickly took off as a top-viewed show, bringing in 6.6million viewers.

The show gained in popularity with Zendaya as the lead actress who, at only 24 years old, became the youngest actress to win an Emmy Award in 2020 for best lead actress in a drama.

In addition to Zendaya’s win, Euphoria was also nominated for another six Emmy Awards.

By the time season two of Euphoria kicked off in January 2022, the viewership had more than doubled, topping 14million viewers.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the majority of viewers did not watch the second season premiere of Euphoria live.

The live viewership amounted to only 254,000 of the 14million.

This means only two percent of the total number of people who tuned in watched the show live while the remainder chose to watch it via a streaming service.

The show tackles the unspoken conversations of drug abuse and addiction and via social media, Zendaya warned viewers that the show isn’t for the faint of heart.

“I know I’ve said this before, but I do want to reiterate to everyone that Euphoria is for mature audiences,” she said in an Instagram post.

“This season, maybe even more so than the last, is deeply emotional and deals with subject matter that can be triggering and difficult to watch.”

Zendaya wrote a similar disclaimer before the premiere of season one in 2019, saying: “Just a reminder before tonight’s premiere, that Euphoria is for mature audiences. It’s a raw and honest portrait of addiction, anxiety and the difficulties of navigating life today.

“There are scenes that are graphic, hard to watch and can be triggering. Please only watch if you feel you can handle it.

“Do what’s best for you. I will still love you and feel your support. Love, Daya.” 

Where can I watch Euphoria?

The first episode of Euphoria season two aired on January 9, 2022, on HBO Max.

Episodes air on the streaming platform at 9pm ET every Sunday and the season two finale will air on February 27, 2022.
