Bachelor: Cassidy Talks About Her Mean Videos Regarding Clayton Echard
After posting controversial content about The Bachelor season 26 lead Clayton Echard, Cassidy Timbrooks breaks her silence on the issue. With fans already sharing their dislike of Clayton, the ABC series continues to attract negative attention from a variety of sources. Clayton may be notorious after his season, but Cassidy continues to be a recurring issue within Bachelor Nation, proving to be more problematic than any contestant in recent years.
While Bachelor Nation has had a number of questionable characters over the years, Cassidy stands out as a controversial contestant, only making The Bachelor season 26 more chaotic and toxic. Cassidy may have come into the season looking for love, but her methods of doing so haven't settled well with the other women, Clayton or fans. Even guest stars such as Hilary Duff have called out Cassidy for her behavior. Now aware of her errors on the series, Cassidy seems to be acknowledging her missteps. Whether her apologies are authentic or not is still hard to tell.
As reported by Us Weekly, Cassidy explained her point of view regarding her crude comments about Clayton that surfaced online. Cassidy made it clear that the content seen on social media was "never intended to be seen publicly" and was only meant to appear on her "close friends story on Instagram." Coming across as defensive rather than apologetic, Cassidy went on to say that she was "being intentionally overdramatic and satirical" in the content that got leaked online by an unnamed source, someone supposedly close with Cassidy. Already disliked for disrespecting her fellow Bachelor contestants, Cassidy becomes more concerning with each new scandal. Caught in an uncomfortable situation, Cassidy continues to make a bad situation worse by making excuses for her actions and trying to claim that she has "respect" for Clayton. Now disliked more than ever, Cassidy's weak apology is certain to land flat with both Clayton and the rest of Bachelor Nation.
No matter her intentions, Cassidy's own comments prove she is in the wrong when it comes to her online presence. Public or private, Cassidy majorly overstepped with her comments on Clayton. While she may be "embarrassed" by the leak, Cassidy still lacks certain remorse for her actions, only concerned she was caught in the act. Cassidy's already obnoxious television persona has caused uproar amongst the cast, specifically when it comes to her chaotic f-bomb-ridden comments about landing a rose. Clearly making the same mistakes repeatedly, the reality star's attempt to reconcile her behavior now seems flimsy and much too late.
Clayton has taken the brunt of Bachelor hate. Many individuals (including Cassidy) have come out to personally attack him, leading to a very problematic season. Simply trying to find a wife on the series, Clayton has expressed how difficult it has been to be scrutinized by the public on a regular basis during the airing of The Bachelor. Clayton has even faced mental health concerns, due to the negative comments that have come his way. Now dealing with hate from within the show, Clayton has to decide what to do with Cassidy's flimsy, desperate attempt at self-preservation.
