This week in Halo Infinite, the Fracture: Tenrai event has returned for its third outing, this time lasting from February 1st-February 7th, 2022. Back in November 2021, the first Tenrai event in Infinite caused frustration for many players regarding issues over cosmetic pricing, advertised armor unlocks being locked in the store, challenges being too difficult to complete, and a core Halo mode, Fiesta, being used as a limited-time mode for the Tenrai event. Luckily, 343 Industries has been listening to players' complaints and has addressed everything players were frustrated with during the first Tenrai event. The Tenrai free event pass now includes armor previously locked behind a store paywall as well as easier challenges to unlock that armor faster.
The Tenrai event still does not have a new or special game mode, unlike last week's Cyber Showdown Event. The events challenges and rewards are still tied to the normal Fiesta game mode and are fairly easy to complete. Event challenges really only consist of completing Fiesta matches, earning a double kill in Fiesta, and others. These challenges are much easier than the events previously unskippable "get 10 killing sprees in Fiesta" challenge. Players can find specially marked Tenrai challenges in their challenge hub. Each completed challenge will level the event's free pass and reward the player with event cosmetics.
With Halo fans recently rallying to boycott Halo Infinites in-game store, 343I made the decision to move many of the event exclusive cosmetic armor unlocks that were previously only available in the store and put them in the events free pass. The free event pass also now allows for 10 levels of it to be unlocked per event, putting players previous fear of missing out to rest. While fans are still asking for the option to buy certain pieces of gear outright instead of purchasing them in bundles, this is still a nice change to the shop.
Completing this week's weekly and ultimate challenges in Halo Infinite will reward the player with the whispered sky weapon coating for all their weapons. This weapon coating is only available during the Tenrai event and is one of the cleanest free coatings in the game.
In terms of the shop, not much has changed from Halo Infinite's Tenrai's previous event back in January. Most of the items available here have been in the shop during each Tenrai event since November, the only difference is that some pieces now cost less or have been moved on to the events free pass as challenge rewards. The Fracture: Tenrai Event in Halo Infinite will return 3 more times before Season 2 arrives, so players still have a good amount of time to complete the passes 30 levels.
Halo Infinite is available for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC.
