DEAR DEIDRE: I AM an openly gay man and felt sure I was on the brink of something special with my male neighbour – because he had been flirting with me so much.
But now I feel a fool as he has moved his ex-girlfriend back to his flat and cuts me dead in the hallway.

I’m 42, he’s 45 and I’ve only ever known him with a female partner.
When they split up last summer, he turned his sights on me and started flirting outrageously.
