As the puzzle game has exploded in popularity, it turns out many may have been playing it the wrong way.
There have been many debates on which is the best word to start off the game.
And now a TikTok user who claims to have found the game’s entire word list has revealed the word gamers should be using to begin the puzzle.
According to TikToker Crvlwanek, the best word to kick off the game is “LATER.”
Crvlwanek used the list to calculate the frequency of each letter and scored each word based on the frequencies of the letter in each word and on the letter of the frequencies, according to news.com.au.

That’s how he allegedly calculated the most optimal starting word for the game.
After LATER, the TikToker found ALTER, ALERT, AROSE and IRATE to be the next highest-ranking starting words.
Experts have previously said the best words to begin the puzzle are IRATE, ADIEU or STARE.
Crvlwanek also analyzed which are the worst words to start the game with, finding that XYLYL, GYPPY, HYPHY and YUKKY scored the least.
Wordle is a simple word game with one puzzle – the same for everyone – to play daily. You just have to guess a single word, and you’ve got six tries.
