Superman & Robin Just Received Their Own Iron Man Upgrades

The Super Sons have reunited in a big way in the pages of DC Comics, with Robin and Superman getting their own Iron Man-like mech suits. In Superman & Robin #1, the two heroes borrow armor from their fathers, giving them upgrades needed to take on a series of opponents inside the Fortress of Solitude. But, of course, what would a reunion be without Robin and Superman getting into some fun trouble?
Damian Wayne and Jon Kent, the sons of Batman and Superman respectively, were one of DC's best duos as the Super Sons. Superman and Robin teamed up on numerous fun adventures in their own series and have always had a special friendship. However, Jon Kent was aged up in Brian Michael Bendis' Superman run, as he went from a child to a 17-year-old in the span of two weeks after being displaced in time for five years. That meant when he returned to Earth (after joining the Legion of Super-Heroes), his best friend Robin was still only 14 - meaning their childhood adventures would come to a halt. But that doesn't mean they're still not best pals and unwilling to team up.
In Superman & Robin #1 by Peter J. Tomasi, Viktor Bogdanovic, Daniel Henriques, Scott Hanna, Matt Santorelli, Ivan Plascencia, Matt Herms, and Tom Napolitano, the Super Sons reunite to investigate the Fortress of Solitudes' alarm going off. Robin borrows Batman's Hellbat suit so that he can fly to the location alongside Superman. While inside the Fortress, the heroes realize a Temporal Cube has not only caused chaos inside but brought a group of soldiers from Dinosaur Island to Superman's most secure location. It leads Superman to jump inside his own Iron Man-like armor to take them alongside Robin's Hellbat suit.
After fighting against gunfire and more and more soldiers, Superman and Robin end up combining their sonic frequency from their Iron Man-esque armors to send the invaders back through the portal which they came. Ultimately, they both used their new suits to stop havoc being caused inside the Fortress of Solitude. The adventure ends with Jon and Damian agreeing they will always be the Super Sons, no matter what happens.
Seeing the Super Sons reunite proved to be a lot of fun. The latest reunion of Superman and Robin was worth the wait as having both heroes getting their own Iron Man-like armors to fight off waves of enemies inside the Fortress of Solitude was cool.
