DEAR DEIDRE: I LOVE my partner but can’t stand his parents. They are so difficult and interfering.
I’m a woman of 34 and my partner is 37. He’s an only child and his parents live two streets away.

I moved in with him at the beginning of the pandemic after six months of dating.
His parents are both 67 and, since the lockdown lifted, they have become the in-laws from hell.
They have a key to our place and let themselves in any time they like, even when I’m trying to work.
They insist on cleaning his flat even though I’m there. They go through his fridge and throw things out.
