I’m pregnant but love drinking cans of Monster – trolls slam me for it but it’s my body and it doesn’t make me a bad mum
A PREGNANT woman who is regularly slammed by trolls for her love of Monster has insisted her love of the energy drinks doesn’t make her a bad mum.
Shannon took to TikTok to share a video of herself enjoying a can of the drink while on the train, writing alongside the clip: “Idc (I don’t care) if u comment hate – my pregnancy, my decision, simple as.
“Doesn’t make me a bad mum.”
Despite the statement in her video, the comments section was quickly flooded by remarks from those who disagreed, and said drinking such highly caffeinated drinks while pregnant is bad for the baby.
“It does make u a bad mum, you’re putting ur unborn child’s health as risk,” one person wrote.
“She’s the one harming her baby even on energy drinks it says not suitable for pregnant women,” another person commented.
“The baby can come out addicted to caffeine that’s why,” someone else said.
“I wish I could drink that right now but I know I can’t because I am pregnant,” another mum-to-be wrote.

Another comment read: “My friend drank energy drinks when pregnant the baby came out with the shakes on a come down and had to be incubated they said it was because of them.”
But in response to that, Shannon argued: “Not everyone’s the same though I have half a can once… maybe twice a week.”
Others insisted it’s Shannon’s right to drink what she wants while she’s pregnant.
“Girl you do you and have a safe pregnancy, I had my son in September last year and all I drank was coke and water and he turned out perfectly fine,” one person commented.
“I drink lucozade it helps me eat and stops me being sick just try not to have too much it makes babies heart beat fast,” another person added.
