Moldova is unable to cope with the payment of the contract for the supply of Russian gas. She turned to Gazprom and asked to defer the January payment.
This is reported by the Telegram channel “House of Cards: Europe”, referring to the head of “Moldovgaz” Vadim Cheban. He stated that the company is not able to pay for the supplied gas on its own. In this regard, it asks to defer payments or issue a short-term loan.
Cheban asks for support from the entire leadership of Gazprom and all its shareholders. He also wants the Moldovan government to refund VAT to Moldovagaz and compensate household consumers for the difference between the natural gas price on which the tariff is calculated and the purchase price.
In addition, Cheban spoke about international loans to be taken by the main industrial gas consumers. Thus, they could pay for fuel in full on time.
