Report provides update on Christian Eriksen’s situation at Inter Milan
CalcioMercato have revealed that Cristian Eriksen is expected to terminate his contract with Inter Milan over the coming weeks.
Eriksen has had an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) device fitted after suffering a cardiac arrest in Denmark’s Euro 2020 clash against Finland in June.
Inter Milan revealed in October that the former Spurs man cannot continue playing in the Serie A as he does not meet the requirements of sporting fitness stipulated by the Italian medical authorities.
The Denmark international is now said to be training on his own at Danish club Odense Boldklub, for whom he played as a youngster.
CalcioMercato have now revealed that the Denmark international is likely to reach an agreement to leave Inter ‘very soon’.
The report explains that the Nerrazuri are awaiting the opinion of the Italian doctors on Eriksen’s suitability to play, the outcome of which seems ‘inevitable’.
The former Tottenham man is contracted with the Serie A club until 2024 but it is explained that the contract will likely be terminated ‘in full harmony’ before the end of this month.
As a result of the termination, Inter are expected to have a loss of €15m (£12.8m) but it is thought the club would be saving €10m (£8.5m).

I hope Eriksen gets back playing competitive football soon if he is given the green light to do so. If the 29-year-old is forced to retire due to his condition, I would love for Spurs to give him a chance to work with the young players at the club’s academy.
