Tottenham Hotspur were condemned to their first Premier League defeat of the new season earlier today.
It was a lethargic performance from Nuno Espirito Santo’s side following the international break and were brought back down to earth with a humbling 3-0 defeat against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
Oliver Skipp was one of the players who were a doubt leading up to the match after suffering a groin issue while playing for England Under-21’s on Thursday evening, but did manage to make the starting eleven in South London.
After the match, Skipp admitted that Tottenham need to learn from the defeat but tried to remain upbeat and is looking to make amends on Thursday when they make the trip to France to face Rennes in the first game of the Europa Conference League group stage.
"We can't get too down, we've had a good start with three wins but we'll definitely take the lessons from today."

Skipp was part of a midfield trio along with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Harry Winks which lacked the creative licence to try and make things happen in the final third of the pitch.
The introduction of Tanguy Ndombele at half time for Winks would have been a more sensible option, however, Nuno decided to stick with the same eleven and when Japhet Tanganga was dismissed, it limited his options to use his more attack-minded players from the bench.
