New Hawkeye Images Show Kate Bishop In Costume & Lucky the Pizza Dog
New first-look images from Disney+ and Marvel's Hawkeye series have dropped, showing off Hailee Steinfeld's Kate Bishop in costume alongside Lucky the Pizza Dog and Clint Barton himself. Jeremy Renner will be reprising his role as the arrow-shooting Avenger in the six-episode series, which premieres on November 24. The show will follow him training fan and protegé Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld). The cast also includes Tony Dalton as Clint's mentor Swordmaster, Vera Farmiga as Kate's mother Eleanor, and Alaqua Cox as Echo, a deaf, Native American hero with the power of mimicry. Echo will be appearing in her own MCU spinoff, which is already in development.
Kate Bishop is an important character in the comics because she eventually takes on the mantle of Hawkeye. This implies that Clint will likely be passing the torch by the end of this season. Bishop might be tasked with taking over before she is ready, considering that Florence Pugh has been confirmed to appear as Black Widow's Yelena Belova, on a mission to take down Clint.
EW has debuted new Hawkeye images alongside another from Disney and Marvel. In the first, Hawkeye is in action mode carrying the bow and quiver of arrows, and in the second, Kate Bishop has taken the bow off his hands. These photos also show off a glimpse at a very important new MCU character, Lucky the Pizza Dog (played by Jolt), a canine rescued by Hawkeye from the mob group the Tracksuit Mafia. These images don't reveal too much about the direction the show will be taking. The first does provide some interesting background details that will have eagle-eyed Hawkeye fans searching for clues, but there's nothing particularly telling. The second just shows the heroes on a subway platform, with no indication at all as to where they are going. However, if there's a subway fight involving claustrophobic archery, it might just rival that Shang-Chi bus scene for transportation-related action mayhem.
Not many Hawkeye plot details of any kind have emerged yet. However, it has been confirmed that the show will be taking place after the events of Avengers: Endgame during the Christmas season. Beyond that, it's just speculation. However, in casting news, it has been confirmed that in addition to Yelena on Clint's tail, the show will also feature Irish actor Fra Fee as Kazi (AKA Clown), a mercenary who has worked for several dangerous organizations but may get mixed up in the Tracksuit Mafia this season. Whatever happens, Hawkeye will certainly need to watch his back.
Hawkeye premieres on Disney+ on November 24, 2021.
