Dr Disrespect Excitedly Welcomes TimTheTatman To YouTube
Dr Disrespect welcomed TimTheTatman to YouTube Gaming during his recent livestream. Dr Disrespect has been streaming on YouTube Gaming for roughly a year now following an unexplained ban and was largely alone on the platform up until recently. Although there were other streamers, it wasn't until the likes of DrLupo and TimTheTatman ditched Twitch in favor of YouTube Gaming that people started paying more attention.
On September 1, TimTheTatman signed an exclusive deal with YouTube Gaming for an undisclosed amount of time and money. He will no longer be streaming on Twitch and will instead be focusing on YouTube, where he will live stream, upload videos, and utilize features like the recently added TikTok-like Shorts. TimTheTatman expressed plenty of enthusiasm regarding the move, stating he believes it will allow him more time for his family and possibly even better opportunities. One such opportunity comes from Dr Disrespect.
Prior to his Twitch ban, Dr Disrespect and TimTheTatman played with each other quite frequently, but that seemed to have lessened within the last year. As part of his Twitch contract, TimTheTatman couldn't play with Dr Disrespect on stream, but it seems that will no longer be the case as they're both on the same platform. Once the news broke, Dr Disrespect excitedly welcomed TimTheTatman to YouTube Gaming on his own stream (via Twitter user WickedGoodGames). TimTheTatman confirmed he will be streaming with Doc and some other streamers to kick off his first YouTube stream as well.
It seems likely TimTheTatman and Dr Disrespect will be returning to their frequent play sessions once again now that there's nothing holding them back. Dr Disrespect seemed to be showing a rare level of actual unbridled emotion when he talked about TimTheTatman, which really showcases how big this move is. As big streamers like TimTheTatman continue to move off of Twitch, it seems like YouTube Gaming could truly begin to rival Twitch with some time.
As of right now, DrLupo, Dr Disrespect, TimTheTatman, and many others have joined the platform and it seems like Google is only going to continue shelling out huge deals to these big streamers. Over the next couple of years, it's likely there will be huge bidding wars on these different streamers in an effort to have a healthy amount of talent backing them. Whether or not YouTube Gaming can create an authentic creator-first reputation and build itself as a strong streaming platform remains to be seen.
