Inter midfielder Christian Eriksen sent a video message to a nine-year-old girl who requires a pacemaker. ‘I’m sure you’ll get back to normal life very quickly afterwards, I know I did.’
The Denmark international collapsed when his heart stopped during the UEFA EURO 2020 match against Finland in June and was revived on the pitch by medical staff.
He had a device implanted a few days later and a similar procedure is going to be undertaken by a young English girl called Evie.
She idolises the former Tottenham Hotspur star, so her family sent a letter and he responded with a video message, which they shared on Facebook.
“Hi Evie, it’s Christian. Thanks for the lovely letter, I just read it through tonight. I hope you are feeling comfortable and confident going into the operation. It’s never fun to be in hospital, but I’m sure the doctors know what they are doing and they will help you.
“I’m sure you will get back to normal life very quickly afterwards, I know I did. I’m sure it’ll be the same with you.
“I just wanted to wish you all the best and hopefully maybe we’ll see each other in future.”
