It’s not too late to experience a “Summer of Love,” according to the title of Shawn Mendes’ upcoming song with Tainy.
The Canadian pop superstar announced on Monday (Aug. 9) “Summer of Love” will be released on Aug. 20.
Mendes, who turned 23 on Sunday, sneakily revealed the song title earlier this month on his sweatshirt while he played a couple of guitar chords in a Twitter video captioned “sol,” meaning “sun” in Spanish. The pop star later previewed the bouncy single in another video of him driving in a convertible with the green mountains and sunset as his stunning backdrop.
His work with the Puerto Rican reggaetón megaproducer — who’s worked with J Balvin, Bad Bunny, Daddy Yankee, Lauren Jauregui, Jessie Reyez and many more Latin superstars — comes a month after he hopped on the bilingual remix of “Kesi” with Colombian singer-songwriter Camilo. Mendes revealed that it was girlfriend Camila Cabello who helped him nail his Spanish for the tune. The “Kesi” remix peaked at No. 10 on Billboard’s Latin Digital Song Sales chart.
Tainy also shared a sneak peek of “Summer of Love” by showing off the digital audio workstation from his laptop that played a 16-second snippet of the beats.
