The Chase’s Anne Hegerty mortified as she’s brutally branded a ‘hooker’ by VERY cheeky contestant
THE Chase’s Anne Hegerty was branded a “hooker” by comedian Dane Baptiste after joking that she shared a bath with two rugby players.
The rugby-inspired innuendo was made during yesterday’s celebrity instalment of the quiz show, which saw The Governess face off against Dane, Anita Rani, Mark Pougatch and rugby world cup referee Nigel Owen.
As Nigel stepped up face Anne, she playfully joked: “I was no good as a rugby referee.
“I sent two players off for an early bath and then I went to join them. It was a good day.”
Following the saucy quip, Nigel asked his teammates about what he should play for when comedian Dane delivered a cheeky innuendo using rugby terminology.
Dane said: “I feel like seeing as you and The Governess have both played rugby, do what you’re comfortable with because you are a fly half of this team and you don’t want to be mislead by a hooker.”
The joke left the studio audience and host Bradley Walsh giggling while Dane quickly backtracked and insisted: “Those are all recognised rugby terms.”
Unimpressed by the joke, Ann teased: “You’re a marked man.”
However that wasn’t the end of pair’s playful banter as Dane caused Bradley to raise an eyebrow when he commented on Anne’s prowess.
Contemplating his offer, the comedian said: “As seductive as The Governess is…”
To which the 61-year-old presenter interrupted: “What!!?”
Standing his ground, Dane admitted: “You’ve seen the sequins Bradley,” referring to Ann’s shimmering shirt, and added: “I’m going to go for £8,000.”

Despite losing Nigel, Dane, Anita and Mark bagged £40,000 for each of their chosen charities after winning an eye-watering £120,000.
Commenting on the incredible win, Bradley said: “Well played. Seven attempts at pushbacks five executed, Chaser needed four.
“£120,000, absolutely brilliant and that’s one of our biggest wins ever I think for charity. Brilliant, brilliant stuff.”
