Honda Performance Development has confirmed that a further ‘Evo’ version of the Acura (badged Honda outside North America) NSX GT3, designated the NSX GT3 Evo22, will debut in the 2022 season.
The latest evolution of the multiple championship-winning NSX GT3 features a
number of important revisions aimed at addressing team and driver needs, and promises to “provide more consistent performance across a wider range of conditions and drivers”.
“We are extremely pleased to announce this latest development of the already highly-
successful Acura NSX GT3,” said John Whiteman, HPD Manager, Commercial Motorsports.
“While the NSX has won races and titles in some of the world’s most prestigious GT3 series, we believe in constantly improving our products and providing the best possible equipment and support for our Acura Motorsports teams.”
The new Evo22 edition will feature upgraded engine intercoolers, to ensure consistency in engine performance in a wider range of conditions; revised spring rates and suspension geometry adjustments; increased fluid tank sizes for endurance racing; wheel system revisions for faster tyre changes; and a new, FIA-mandated rain light.
Additionally, new variant options will be available for the air conditioning system, and headlights.
The NSX GT3 Evo22 remains available for new orders and is homologated through 2024.
As with the current NSX GT3 Evo, the core chassis originates at the Performance
Manufacturing Center in Marysville, Ohio. Final assembly is completed by JAS Motorsport in Milan which will continue to provide parts and technical support in Europe.
HPD is the global technical authority for the NSX GT3 Evo 22; and maintains parts and
engineering support throughout North America, with its Acura Motorsports technical trailer present at all official IMSA and SRO events.
In the four full seasons since its North American introduction in 2017, the Acura NSX GT3 has recorded 25 class wins in IMSA GTD and SRO GT competition, and is the defending IMSA GTD and SRO GT Manufacturers’ Champion.
Acura/ Honda join Audi, Lamborghini and soon to be Ferrari in opting for a second evolution of their current GT3 platforms for 2022.
