Pundit claims club will let Spurs target leave this summer after signing Liverpool man
Former Porto ace Carlos Chainho believes that Porto could cash in on rumoured Tottenham target Sergio Oliveira after completing the signing of Marko Grujic from Liverpool.
The central midfield area is reportedly one of the positions Spurs are looking to strengthen this summer, with question marks over the futures of both Moussa Sissoko and Harry Winks.
The club have been linked with the likes of Roma’s Lorenzo Pellegrini and AC Milan’s Franck Kessie over recent weeks.
Oliveira was another central midfielder who was rumoured to be on the North London club’s radar, with Portuguese publication Record claiming last month that the 25-year-old was waiting for an approach from Tottenham.
The Portuguese international is allegedly valued by Porto at around £38m.
It was confirmed earlier this week that the Primeira Liga club had signed Grujic permanently from Liverpool after the Serbian impressed on loan at the Estadio do Dragao.
Chainho has claimed that Grujic’s arrival may spell the end of Oliveira’s time at the club.
The 47-year-old told Bola Branca: “Grujic was an asset to Porto in the final part of last season. (His return) is good news because this is a perfect marriage.
“In addition, he knows the structure and dynamics of the team and no longer needs time to adapt. He is a player Sergio Conceicao likes. I think this year he will have a bigger role and will score more goals.
“Sergio Oliveira is on the market and is an attractive player, a player of great quality, and there are many sharks who want him.
“With Grujic, Sergio can stay because Porto will play many games in various competitions and they need quality midfielders.
“But I believe Sergio Oliveira will be able to leave by the end of the market.”

I do not expect us to spend big on a central midfielder this summer since Paratici is likely to prioritise other areas. I see us potentially bringing in another body to take Winks’/Sissoko’s place in the squad rather than someone like Locatelli or Kessie, who would expect to be a starter.
