Macy Chiasson says UFC Vegas 32 withdrawal was due to stress fracture in foot
Macy Chiasson has revealed the injury that forced her out of the UFC Vegas 32 co-main event.
The bantamweight contender was scheduled to fight Aspen Ladd on Saturday, but the UFC announced Thursday that the bout was cancelled due to an injury. MMA Fighting confirmed with sources that it was Chiasson who suffered the injury and the fighter has now elaborated on that news via Instagram.
Chiasson, the no. 9 bantamweight in MMA Fighting’s Global Rankings, explained that she had a “stress fracture” in her foot that was re-injured during a workout this week. According to Chiasson, she can “hardly walk at all much less fight.”

I went into this fight with a stress fracture in my foot from camp. Should have been in a boot instead but was feeling good with it wrapped up. I then re-injured it last night working out before my cut. I can hardly walk at all much less fight. I just want to say I am so sorry and I was never more ready in my life for this fight. Unfortunately this happens in sports. I really want everyone to see how great I’m fighting. I’m really hoping it will get rebooked for a later date. We have worked too hard for this. I just want to thank the [UFC] and [matchmaker Mick Maynard] for everything you do for us and for this opportunity.
In a caption, she added, “I want to send out my apologies to [Ladd] and her team for the inconvenience and I hope to get this fight rebooked. This is the fight I want and have been working hard for. I’m devastated to say the least.”
This was to be Chiasson’s second fight of 2021 after defeating Marion Reneau in March. The Ultimate Fighter 28 winner is 5-1 in the UFC.
Having missed out on a fight this weekend, Ladd has already taken to social media to campaign for a fight with former UFC bantamweight champion Miesha Tate, who made a successful return from retirement this past Saturday at UFC Vegas 31.
