China refuses to investigate the origin of coronavirus according to WHO plan

This is the second phase of the investigation into the occurrence of COVID-19. Beijing, according to a spokesman for the state health committee, will not follow the project.

According to RIA Novosti, deputy head of the State Health Committee Zeng Yixin said that China considers the wording of the World Health Organization document on coronavirus disrespectful to science.

“The Chinese government supports scientific investigations. We oppose the politicization of the investigation into the origin of the virus”, – he said, stressing that the second phase of the investigation should be based on the conclusions made after the first.

Since the beginning of the outbreak of COVID-19 in Wuhan, versions have repeatedly appeared that the causative agent of the infection could “leak” from the laboratory of the Wuhan Institute of Virology. WHO experts visited him in March and later published a report. In it, the scientists called the version of the leak “extremely unlikely.” The document also states that the coronavirus may have been transmitted to humans from bats through another animal.
