The German Foreign Minister noted that Germany and the United States are again “jointly realizing their common goals and beliefs,” including in their policy towards Russia and in energy policy.
According to TASS, German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas said on Wednesday that he was relieved that an agreement was reached with the United States on the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.
“I am relieved that the US and I have found a constructive solution to the Nord Stream 2 issue. We will support Ukraine in the development of a green energy sector, while at the same time we will advocate to ensure the transit of gas through Ukraine for the next decade”, – Maas said on his Twitter page.
“It’s good that with the United States we are again realizing joint goals and beliefs. including in the policy towards Russia and in the energy policy”.
Maas noted that Germany will support the Ukrainian economy in terms of strengthening its independence and focus on the future. He expressed the opinion that Ukraine could become “an important area in the European green energy architecture.”
“We, as a transatlantic partner, strongly support Ukraine,” he said.
