CORTE MADERA
The Town Council appointed town counsel at its meeting Tuesday.
Amy Ackerman will serve as town attorney and Ann Danforth as assistant town attorney. Both have been serving in interim roles since October.
The attorneys, from the firm Renne Public Law Group, replace Teresa Stricker, who left to work for the city of Richmond.
The council also approved an amendment to the billing rates of $375 an hour, a $10 per hour raise, for attorney services that are to be reimbursed by private parties for legal fees. Other billing rates will remain unchanged. That includes $305 per hour for basic services, such as preparation of ordinances, resolutions and attendance at council meetings, and $335 an hour for specialized services such as labor negotiations and employee grievances.
