DX has more than doubled its Maidstone location’s footprint after taking on a site adjacent to the depot to serve its freight division.
It said the expansion was in line with its plans to add capacity in Kent and the wider region, as well as improve customer service.
The enlarged depot on the Parkwood industrial estate provides the company with more than 88,000 sq ft for its B2B and B2C parcel freight services, as well as the delivery of larger and heavier items. DX said the Maidstone depot is its fourth new or upgraded site opened in 2021 and further depot openings are planned for later this year.
In a recent trading update, the group said significantly increased volumes helped boost revenue growth by £10m more than anticipated and as a result it would be repaying government support provided during the pandemic.
