Ringette Canada is delighted to announce the appointment of Hannah Woodman to the position of Program Coordinator with Ringette Canada. Hannah has worked in sport for 8 years starting at the recreation level in 2014 and moving to work in the sport of ringette from 2018-21. Throughout these years, Hannah worked at Ringette BC as the first Community Sport Outreach Coordinator and eventually, Sport Development Coordinator focusing on changes being implemented from the National level in terms of strategy, LTAD, values, as well as goals.
Over the course of her 3 years at Ringette BC, Hannah developed and built ringette programming centered around Children’s Ringette, recruitment and outreach. She worked hands on in the community, with the deliverables of creating a positive sport experience and increasing sport awareness. Hannah was able to travel around the province in person and virtually to implement programming and train volunteers on programs. From this experience, she developed a skill and passion in strategically identifying gaps and creating holistic and inclusive programming for all. She is eager to bring this lens to the Ringette Canada team where she knows she will be able to further put her skills to use in creating programming for the country.
Beyond the professional forefront, Hannah has a genuine personal love for sport and the amazing things it can do for people. She played ringette for 17 years, most recently on the BC Thunder NRL team as well as taking on the role of captain for her Team BC Canada Winter Games team.
Since then, Hannah is now living in Whistler, BC, taking time to further explore her personal love of sport in the variety of other sporting worlds that exist in the beautiful nature the Whistler landscape has to offer. At the moment, she is most passionate about highlining, snowboarding, and skydiving – anything that is especially challenging and pushes new boundaries.
“As my love and passion for sport continues to grow I am excited and eager to share the love of the game with the rest of the country, hoping it manifests in my programming.”
