If you’re a fan of American Horror Story, then you’re in luck this summer. A new spinoff series called American Horror Stories launches today, which is now streaming exclusively on FX on Hulu. Every Thursday until August 18th, there will be a new hour-long episode that focuses on a terrifying horror myth. Overall, there will be seven episodes for you to enjoy in this twisted new anthology.
This new spinoff is the series horror fans have been waiting to see. It doesn’t matter whether you’re a super fan of American Horror Story or you’ve never seen a single episode. The teaser trailer for American Horror Stories will look familiar to AHS fans. It features new characters returning to the famous Murder House. This is where the fun began in season one of American Horror Story. Of course, the references don’t stop there.
In the newest sixty-second trailer, fans will catch the eerie drive in where Naomi Grossman (who previously played the character Pepper in Asylum/Freak Show) screams at the audience to look away, a murderous Santa played by Danny Trejo, and a Pig Man swiping at Matt Bomer with a machete. Like the trailers, this series will give you a dash of nostalgia while giving you brand-new content – and scares.

AHS fans will also be happy to hear that many episodes will feature the stars you already know and love. Ryan Murphy is the executive producer on the show, and he has promised fans they’re going to see some familiar faces. Matt Bomer, Billie Lourd, and John Carroll Lynch have been confirmed in an official cast announcement on Twitter. Sarah Paulson has also confirmed she’s directing an episode of American Horror Stories, but she hasn’t revealed which episode she’s going to be involved with.
Unlike AHS, American Horror Stories is an anthology show with stand-alone episodes. Think Black Mirror, just replace the tech frights with psychological horror. Since every episode is a stand-alone, that means you won’t have to watch every season of American Horror Story to understand what is going on. You’ll be able to turn on any episode and enjoy the horror unfold.
Every Thursday, the episodes will delve into different horror myths, legends, and lore. The show will focus on a new nightmare each week, like the Bloody Pig Man and Murderous Santa Clause, along with other demons, ghosts, and ghouls.
The first two episodes will revolve around the Rubber Woman, which is a familiar character that AHS fans may recognize. The Rubber Man was a faceless figure who stalked the halls of the Murder House in season one and killed whomever he pleased while having many different characters behind the mask. Who could be the mysterious woman donning the suit this time?
Although American Horror Stories is going to appeal to AHS fans, it’s an entirely different show with an entirely new set of characters, stories, and monsters. Although there will be some familiar actors, like heartthrob Matt Bomer, the main cast is filled with fresh faces that bring excitement to the series.
The cast includes Kevin McHale, Charles Melton, Nico Greetham, Dyllón Burnside, Paris Jackson, and Kaia Gerber. McHale has worked with Ryan Murphy before on his hit show Glee. Melton is most well-known for his role in Riverdale. Greetham was in The Prom, and Burnside was in Pose. These actors are going to bring new perspectives, new tales, and new horrors.
