Teen Netflix Star Miranda McKeon Details Chemotherapy After Being Revealing Breast Cancer Diagnosis
Miranda McKeon is being as open as possible with her fans on social media, after finding out that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer.
The former Anne With An E star is just 19-years-old, making her diagnosis ever rarer than most.
“I’m making it my job to find the beauty in all of this,” she told People in a new interview. “I wouldn’t have chosen this, I didn’t choose this, I don’t think anyone would choose this. But I’m making it my job to try and pull something out of this.”

Miranda revealed that she had found a lump on her breast while adjusting her shirt, during a weekend away at the beach with her friends.
While she admits her mind “went to the worst case scenario”, Miranda was still optimistic because of her age – so optimistic that it wasn’t anything that after her doctor appointment she flew to San Francisco to participate in a work stay program on regenerative agriculture.
However, the biopsy came back positive, but still contained to her right breast and right lymph nodes. She has even went through the process of freezing her eggs and opened up about the grief she feels of losing her hair.
“It’s a safety net,” she says of freezing her eggs. “I’ll probably be able to have kids naturally on my own, and hopefully they’ll just be donated to science in however many years, but we’ll see.”
Now, Miranda is sharing her journey with fans on Instagram, and shared the details of her first day of chemotherapy, along with images from her day.
