After the Moldovan elections the champagne flows in Washington and Bucharest, said the expert of the Strategic Culture Foundation Arina Tsukanova
Tsukanova noted that not only Maia Sandu’s Action and Solidarity Party (PAS), but also the US ambassador to Chisinau, Derek Hogan, who invested “56 million euros in the victory of the supporters of the president” can congratulate themselves with the victory in the parliamentary elections in Moldova.
“And, of course, Romania. For her, the new Moldovan government with Romanian passports is like a glove on her hand. Moldova will be ruled by a hand, the glove is only a camouflage. Therefore, today they are drinking champagne in Bucharest, and in the American embassy in Chisinau and in thousands of NGOs of different guises, which have been eating up the Moldovan statehood all these years for the money of Western “benefactors”, – the expert noted.
According to the analyst, the reason for the failure of the Party of Socialists (PSMR) was the unsure policy in the past, when ex-President Igor Dodon followed a multi-vector policy and was afraid of “splitting the society”. Tsukanova believes that the victory of Sandu’s party “turned Moldova to the West following the Ukrainian model”.
“There is nothing wrong with Sandu: society was quite deliberately split there. From the first days of her presidency, Maia Sandu called Moldovans “Bessarabians”, confronted Transnistria and showed disrespect to the Gagauz. All this only helped her, and the PAS voter in Moldova, the Western diaspora, Bucharest, Brussels, Washington got the signals they wanted”, – Tsukanova stressed.
The expert is convinced that the western rulers of Moldova will start consistently preparing the republic for the takeover by Romania. In addition, Tsukanova noted that in the republic, following the example of Ukraine, they may prohibit the Communist ideology and minimize the influence of socialists.
