The head of the Ukrainian GTS Operator Serhiy Makogon on the air of Ukraine 24 called the “only suitable” option of compensation to Kiev after the commissioning of Nord Stream – 2
“The only acceptable option for us is a new gas transit contract for 45-50 billion cubic metres of gas per year for the next 15 years with financial guarantees from European banks or companies”, – Makogon said.
In his opinion, the gas transit contract will act as a “gas shield that will tie the hands of the neighbour in case of escalation”.
As previously reported by News Front, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the views of Kiev and Berlin on the launch of Nord Stream-2 are very different. Bloomberg experts said that German Chancellor Angela Merkel humiliated US President Joe Biden by supporting the Russian pipeline.
