Karting Australia advises Round Four of the 2021 SP Tools Australian Kart Championship presented by Castrol EDGE will proceed as planned on July 23-25, 2021*.
The event will be hosted by the Eastern Lions Kart Club in Seymour, Victoria with a maximum of 1,000 people in attendance to ensure compliance with the Restricted Activity Directions (No. 17) published by the Victorian Government.
All personnel travelling to participate in the event should continually monitor the current COVID-19 situation for their region and familiarise themselves and abide by the Victorian Travel Permit System (https://www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au/victorian-travel-permit-system).
Competitors who may be unable to attend the event due to COVID19 travel restrictions, are reminded that the final Championship Points have been structured so that a Driver’s lowest accumulated total points from a Round are removed from the overall total. For the sake of clarity, this means that a Driver who is unable to make the Round will be able to ‘drop’ the Round and still be in contention for the overall Championship.
As per article 7 a) ii) 2 of the Championship Regulations any competitor who is unable to attend the event due to COVID-enforced restrictions should email media@karting.net.au prior to Monday July 19 to withdraw their Entry and request a refund of their entry fee.
The provisional entry list for the event can be found by clicking here.
* Note: This decision is based on the COVID-19 restrictions – including travel, isolation and lockdown restrictions prevailing as at 12.00pm Friday 9 July 2021 and is subject to change if the COVID-19 situation deteriorates substantially causing those restrictions to be increased.
